The Department of Energy’s SBIR/STTR Phase 0 Assistance Program is comprised of Dawnbreaker personnel, the Greenwood Consulting Group, Reliascent, and others. Brief bios of key personnel are listed below:

Christopher Kaufman, Ph.D. [Program Manager]

Dr. Kaufman is responsible for reviewing the on-line applications for the SBIR/STTR Phase 0 Assistance Program. Chris personally calls all potential candidates to confirm eligibility before making recommendations to the Department of Energy for services. Dr. Kaufman has provided business assistance to numerous Phase I and Phase II DOE grantees, as well as NSF awardees. Prior to joining Dawnbreaker, Dr. Kaufman served as a Venture Capital Analyst Consultant, as well as Licensing Associate. He has a Ph.D. from the University of Minnesota and an MBA from the Simon School of Business, University of Rochester.

Jim Greenwood [Proposal Preparation]

Mr. Greenwood is the lead on the: (1) LOI Review (2) DOE Proposal Preparation and Review, and (3) visits to Federal Lab services. Jim is the President of Greenwood Consulting Group, Inc and has reviewed over 650 SBIR/STTR proposals and provided SBIR training in 48 states and Puerto Rico. Prior to starting his own firm in 1989, Jim worked at the Los Alamos Economic Development Corp. and Los Alamos National Laboratory. He has a MA in City and Regional Planning from Harvard University.

Julie Scuderi [Marketing Communications]

Ms. Scuderi is responsible for marketing communication for the DOE SBIR/STTR Phase 0 Assistance Program. In this role, Ms. Scuderi alsohas responsibility for our social media initiatives. Ms. Scuderi has an MA in Journalism from the University of Miami and previously held positions at ManPower Group, SBTS Convention Services and HedgeCo Networks.

Jenny C. Servo, Ph.D. [On-Line Training]

Dr. Servo is responsible for the development and launch of the DOE on-line learning management system in the Spring, 2015 that will serve as an independent guide for preparing high quality Phase I applications responsive to the interests of the Department of Energy. Dr. Servo is the President and founder of Dawnbreaker and has a Ph.D. from the University of Rochester and a MS from the University of Kansas.
