Working on Your Files from Outside the Office

The following shares and their URLs are given below. In addition to being available through the operating system, the files in the shares can be downloaded through a browser.

Windows XP Instructions

  1. Double click on the My Network Places icon on your desktop.
    If you do not see the My Network Places icon on your desktop, click here.
  2. Double click Add Network Place. This should present you with the Add Network Place Wizard. Click Next.
  3. In the resulting window, select Choose another network location and then click Next.
  4. Type the URL of the share you would like to access that is listed above and then click Next.
  5. Enter dawnbreaker\username and your password in the resulting window and then click OK. If you cannot remember your username or password, please follow these instructions: Forgot My Password.
  6. On the next screen, you can specify a descriptive name of the network place you've just created. Click Next and then click Finish.

Once this connection to your share has been created, it will be saved in your My Network Places folder. To access the share you can:

  1. Double click on My Network Places from the desktop. The My Network Places windows should appear.
  2. Double click on the associated network place. You will be asked for your Dawnbreaker username and password.
  3. When successful, a window showing your share should appear. Now you can use standard file operation (drag and drop, or copy and paste) for this network place.

Windows Vista Instructions

  1. Navigate to "Computer" (Windows Explorer) from the Start menu.
  2. Select "Map network drive" from the Explorer window.
  3. Select the Link at the bottom: "Connect to a Web site that you can use..."
  4. Click on Next from the "Welcome to the Add Network Location Wizard" dialogue window.
  5. Select "Choose a custom network location" and click on Next.
  6. Type the URL of the share you would like to access that is listed above and then click Next.
  7. Enter dawnbreaker\username and your password in the resulting window and then click OK. If you cannot remember your password, please follow these instructions: Forgot My Password
  8. On the next screen, you can specify a descriptive name of the network place you've just created. Click Next and then click Finish.

Windows 7 Instructions

  1. Navigate to "Computer" (Windows Explorer) from the Start menu.
  2. Click "Map network drive" from the Explorer window.
  3. (optional) Change the desired drive letter if you so wish
  4. Type the URL of the share you would like to access that is listed above then click Finish
  5. When prompted, enter dawnbreaker\username and your password and then click OK. If you cannot remember your password, please follow these instructions: Forgot My Password

Mac OS X Instructions (10.4 and up)

  1. Click on the desktop and select Go --> Connect to Server from the menu bar.
  2. Type the URL of the share you would like to access that is listed above and then click Connect.
