Commercialization Planning ProgramSM
This is a Phase I intervention aimed at assisting participating
firms to begin (or continue) the development of a commercialization
strategy for the NSF-funded technology. The process systematically
walks participating firms through preliminary strategic planning,
talking to customers, sizing markets, and examining the strengths
and weaknesses of competitors. Based on this analysis, participants
refine their plans for marketing, distribution, and financing. The
increased business acumen that results from this process is then
reflected in a 15-page Commericialization Plan that conforms to
the Phase II solicitation guidelines provided by the National Science
Foundation.
This service is funded by the National Science Foundation. Announcement
of the availability of this service is made by the Agency to eligible
companies. The Kick-Off meeting for this program is held in combination
with the Grantees Conference in order to decrease the costs associated
with travel.
