Wind energy capacity in Asia and the Pacific increased by 52% in 2007, with 5.6GW installed. As of 2007, China had an installed base of almost 6GW, which made it the world’s fifth largest wind energy producer. Some experts predict that by 2010, China will have an accumulated wind energy capacity of 30GW, making it the world’s fourth largest producer of wind power.
