When electricity is generated, from a variety of different sources (e.g. wind, sun, coal, water, etc.) it goes into a ‘pot’, which is mixed and distributed through the grid, to users. Thus it is not feasible to determine what percentage of user groups utilize hydropower over other sources. In rare cases, some users may create hydropower exclusively for a particular project, but data on such users does not exist that that level. The Annual Energy Report 2009 makes reference to conventional hydroelectric power usage by the industrial and electric power sectors, and notes other source- not including hydropower, being used by the sectors of residential, commercial, or transportation.[1]
