What technologies are currently in place for wind?

Technologies in place for wind energy include: >

  • Advanced manufacturing capabilities for designing, developing and making the various components for a WTG
  • Advanced manufacturing capabilities for sustaining and maintaining the WTG; and
  • Technologies for optimizing WTG performance under various conditions and grid connections.

Finally, there are technologies currently in use to optimize the connections between wind farms and the public power grid. WTGs are typically in the 2.0 MW to 3.6 MW range, although larger turbines have been developed and installed, up to 5.0 MW in capacity. [1]
