Funding

NASA's Space Technology Program, a new FY 2011 budget line, funds ten (10) technology development and innovation programs directly managed by the Office of the Chief Technologist (OCT) through its three (3) divisions:

  1. Early-Stage Innovation for low TRL efforts,
  2. Game Changing Technology to mature technologies from a TRL of 2/3 to a TRL of 4 in preparation for potential system level flight demonstration, and
  3. Crosscutting Capability Demonstrations for the maturation of cross-cutting capabilities to flight readiness status.

The Space Technology Program builds upon the success of the Innovative Partnerships Program (IPP), which was integrated into the OCT’s Space Technology Program and budget line beginning in FY 2011. Source: OCT Overview
