SBIR/STTR

The SBIR/STTR Programs are for Small Business Concerns (SBIR program), or for Small Business Concerns with ties to universities or non-profit research laboratories (STTR program). SBIR and STTR Phase 1 contracts last for 6 months and 12 months respectively, with a maximum funding of $100,000. SBIR/STTR Phase 2 contracts typically last for 24 months with a maximum funding of $600,000, with a possible additional $150,000 if granted a Phase 2 Enhancement.

NASA’s SBIR/STTR programs falls under the Early-Stage Innovation Division of the Office of the Chief Technologist (OCT), which sponsors a range of efforts aimed at advanced concepts and emerging technologies across academia, industry, the NASA field Centers, and other research institutions.
