Retired Marine Corps Maj. Gen. Charles Frank Bolden, Jr. was confirmed as the twelfth Administrator of the National Aeronautics and Space Administration on July 17, 2009. His vision for NASA emphasizes several themes including (1) the Earth-exploring aspects of NASA - using remote and space-borne sensors " to understand not only what's out there but what's in here." (2) making space exploration more entrepreneurial, and (3) using the International Space Station to conduct more R&D.
This space portal, a service of Dawnbreaker provides an introduction to the NASA budget for FY2010, an overview of the Agency's structure and insight into some of the larger NASA programs. Changes in the Agencies priorities will be reflected in periodic updates.
