State Resources
Nicknamed the Gem State, Idaho is home to stunning landscapes, diverse wildlife and an abundance of natural resources, including rare earth elements, precious and base metals and star garnets. The star garnet, which gives the state its nickname is almost exclusively found in Idaho or India. The state is also home to the Department of Energy’s Idaho National Laboratory. This is the nation’s nuclear energy laboratory. The Idaho Department of Commerce offers businesses resources to assist with community development and maintains a page on grants available. Idaho offers regional development organizations to help strengthen local economic development in individual districts.
TechHelp Idaho Manufacturing Specialists
“As Idaho’s representative of the National Manufacturing Extension Partnership program, TechHelp works with the Manufacturing Extension Partnership Supplier Scouting Program to help Idaho manufacturers respond to the supply chain needs of manufacturers in Idaho and nationwide.” TechHelp also provides cybersecurity resources for manufacturers and numerous other types of assistance for those venturing further into manufacturing scale-up.
Idaho Manufacturing Tradeshow & Conference
The Idaho Manufacturing Alliance (IMA) hosts the Idaho Manufacturing Tradeshow & Conference, a premier annual event for the manufacturing community. This one-day conference will take place on October 30, 2025 in Boise, Idaho and consists of a full-day trade show, educational breakout sessions, keynote presentations, and networking opportunities.
