Alternate energy sources and initiatives aimed at having a positive impact on the environment

Dawnbreaker® Energy Portal

The content of this site is provided by Dawnbreaker® as a service for those wishing to become involved with providing alternative energy solutions. This site contains several sections including a description of alternative energy sources and US infrastructure projects, upcoming conferences, and reports on climate change and initiatives in other parts of the world aimed at having a positive impact on the environment. Please explore this portal and provide us with your feedback and ideas for additional topics.

Energy Sources

“Renewable energy” refers to energy that is produced from sources like the sun and wind that are naturally replenished and do not run out.[1] In this portal we have chosen to discuss eight sources of renewable energy, identified below. Click to learn more information.

Oil & Natural Gas

The conversion of light and heat radiated from the sun into usable power

Nuclear

The energy in the nucleus of an atom--it is the energy that holds neutrons and protons

Fusion Energy

Process by which the wind is used to generate mechanical power or electricity

Clean Coal

A new generation of energy processes that strive to reduce the harmful environmental impacts of coal mining.

Critical Minerals & Materials

The process of using water to capture energy that can be converted to electricity

International Energy Reports

Though this portal is focused mainly on domestic alternative energy activities, there are many projects underway globally, as well as legislation that has been issued to reduce carbon footprints and decrease dependence on fossil fuels. This portal by no means lists all of the projects or legislation being considered, but will provide a reasonable snapshot of energy-related decisions being made, by continent, around the globe. The top countries with installed renewable electricity capacity by technology as of 2018 is depicted in the following image.
